    I love this company, but....

Okay, I really don't like leaving negative reviews, but I am writing one in hopes that the quality of the neckties improve with this company. I will start out by saying that I love this company, how it's run, and the incredible (best in the business) customer service.

The interlinings of the neckties are not consistent..some are soft and okay (the older ties), but many are very stiff and make it hard to tie a good looking symmetrical knot, let alone, get a dimple in the tie. The price of their ties are not that reasonable when you compare the stiff neckties to something you'd get at Kohls, or another Chinese imported product you practically see everywhere except a high end store. Compare one of their neckties to a Brooks Brothers necktie, which are frequently marked down to $49.99 and then with an additional 25%. There's no comparison - the BB ties is beautiful, fine silk, great interlining which helps tie a great knot. There's another similar company in the Carolinas, which are more expensive, unless you get one of their sales ties, and these are by far nicer than Beau Ties. I like to support Beau Ties because I feel our values are more aligned...but clothes are important to me and I really hope they use better materials for their neckties. The construction of this tie seems nice, the communication is great, the shipping prices, while not outrageous, is obviously a way to make a few more dollars and it's annoying, because unless you're shopping a warehouse sale, ties are still pretty expensive. That said, the Somerville silk color in dark forest green is a beautiful color, but the silk is subpar quality in my opinion - I probably have 500 ties - all from USA, Italy, England, and I would put this on par with a Tiebar tie...maybe not even that nice - my friend has a few of those and they seem okay.

I do not like writing reviews like this, but I want this company to succeed, and I frankly don't think their necktie products are worth buying anymore.

    For what it's worth...

Nice material and finish. The color is more of a deep emerald than a true forest green, but I don't hate that.

    Beautiful color, great fabric

This tie was such lovely quality. The color is really beautiful and went great with the summer wedding outfit I wore as one of my friend's groomsman (tan linen suit with white shirt). I thought the silk was rich and thick and had a nice sheen to it. Definitely will buy more ties here, and it's lovely that they're made here in the USA.
