I purchased this "Mystery" pocket square some time ago. What arrived several days later, was a "pastel lime-green" pocket square made of 100% silk. I fortunately have some ties that a "pastel lime-green" pocket square works with. This square is mostly opaque and the same color on both sides. It would have been better if it were a reversible.
I don' believe a man's tie must be the same material as his pocket square. But I do believe that a tie and a pocket square should complement each other. I also believe sometimes, "no pocket square is a pocket square." I do know the pocket square I received is beautiful and very masculine. I bought it to wear and to learn how to fold one.
To be fair, there are times when a bow-tie and a pocket square should match. But I would avoid dressing like a dandy.
I once travailed thousands of miles on the ancient silk roads. I learned about silk and poppies. I saw how hard life was for most people. After I was released from prison because all the witnesses lied, I started wearing silk. Black silk from head to toe, from my black yarmulke to my silk socks even in summer. I Learned how strong and warm and cool it is. Nothing compares to silk. It's still used for sutures and for hand-stitched sutras.
Once upon a time, there was a silk industry in New England.
The silk worms ate mulberry leaves and the birds eat the insipid mulberries. That explains why Mulberry trees are an invasive plant.
Some people are now making "peace silk" which is a technique that doesn't kill the silkworms.. One item I would like to see offered here are silk khattas. Khattas are the scarves worn buy people of the Himalayas and especially, Tibet. While peace silk might not be practical for most of the silks offered here, peace silk would be a good choice for making Khattas. Dalai Lama used to give a khatta to the U.S. president. He will not be giving diddley to Trump. China invaded the sovereign nation of Tibet in 1959 and to this day, millions of Tibetans are not free and they are tortured by the government of China which is not where I want the silk I buy to come from. China's plan is to find the Dalai Lama after Dalai Lama dies. No-one who is part of the Tibetan Diaspora will ever accept the Dalai Lama chosen by the Chinese government. It is believed that even the Panchen Lama is dead. The Panchen Lama finds Dalai Lama. If khattas (silk scarves) esp. of " peace silk" and non-Chinese, were sold here at Beau-TIES,LTD. I can guarantee they would sell, if not sell out completely.
I have nothing against the Chinese people.
But I would like to see American made, wherever appropriate on your website. Wishing you all the best!

So I thought it was going to be a pocket square with question marks on it, and that the name of the design was "Mystery Pocket Square."
Instead, it was a generic mystery pocket square, dark red with polka dots, as it happens .
But it's a nice thing at the price, and I'm happy to have it. Still, if you ever make one with question marks on it, let me know.
