Tariffs May Soon Be Causing Price Changes

To Our Beau Ties of Vermont family:

We want to take a moment to speak candidly with you - our loyal customer and supporter - about something that's quietly causing some serious concern behind the scenes over here: tariffs.

At Beau Ties of Vermont, you already know that we’re proudly Made in America. Every bow tie, necktie, and accessory is designed, cut, and sewn right here in our Vermont workshop.

But like many U.S. manufacturers, we rely on global partnerships for raw materials sourcing fabric from all over the world.

We’ve worked with the same trusted fabric partners for many years. Their craftsmanship, quality, and consistency play a big part in making our products exceptional. And those factories are run by good and honest people, some of whom I've known personally for over 20 years.

Some of you may say "Have you ever considered . . . ?" The answer is yes, I've considered and researched literally everything you can think of. And in the end, we are at a crossroads.

It’s important to know that there are no silk weaving factories left in the United States. That’s not a choice we made - it’s simply a fact.

Shifting to other suppliers isn’t simple - it takes years to build a relationship that delivers the excellence you, our customers, come to expect from us. And even if we wanted to move elsewhere, we’re still faced with the uncertainty that tariffs could hit any other country at any time.

So what does this mean for us and for you? Truthfully, we don’t know yet.

Tariff decisions are being made quickly and without clarity, making it impossible for small businesses like ours to plan ahead. Depending on how things unfold, it could impact everything from product availability to pricing - and, without exaggeration, even the future existence of our company.

The hope is that this all becomes moot and we look back at this letter today and laugh.

But for now, we continue to do what we’ve always done: make beautiful, handcrafted accessories with care and pride.

In the meantime, I can only offer this advice: If you've been thinking about placing an order soon, we’d gently suggest that now is a good time. Because we simply don’t know what the coming months will bring in terms of pricing.

Thank you for standing with us. Thank you for supporting American craftsmanship, for choosing quality over shortcuts, and for being part of our story.

With appreciation,

Owner
