The Saga of Sailboat Bay

Actually, I purchased eleven of the Sailboat Bay ties, ten bow and one four-in-hand to be worn by family members at our 50th wedding anniversary celebration in August, which, needless to say, we cancelled. We have two sons-in-law, one of whom is just not a bow tie guy, hence the long one! We have five grandsons, three of whom are not fully grown; they now have two bow ties each, one which is an appropriate size for the celebration which was not and then one for adulthood. The eleventh is mine which I plan to wear on many an occasion.
I ended up placing three orders over a period of several months as my ideas grew. Stacie Vail helped me with the first and third orders; she was a joy to work with, and she is an excellent representative for your company. She takes care of your customer. I must add I am really fortunate you did not sell so many of that pattern that I could not order the 58" "long tie".
You might ask why a sailboat pattern. I have had a wonderful time teaching the three grandsons who are still kids how to sail; we have done this at a Father/Son camp in northern Wisconsin over a period of four summers, the fifth would have been 2020, but.... I first went to that camp in 1954 and learned to sail. I now have 12 years on the books, four each as camper, sailing counselor and Grandpa.
The other two grandsons are in Seattle, and there is still hope the bug might bite them some day, but they are good sports and were quite willing to sport the bow.
Stay safe.

Returns Made Easy

If you're not happy, we're not happy, so we make returns, exchanges and refunds as simple as possible.

Made in Vermont Beau Ties Products

We’re so convinced that you’ll be happy with the products we make for you, we’ll give you a full year to return or exchange any of our standard handcrafted products.

Here’s what we mean by standard: Anything that we make here in Vermont that is not customized for you. This includes all sizes and styles of our bow ties, neckties, Beau Fleur boutonnieres, lapel pins and fabric-covered cufflinks. As long as they are in a new/unused condition, you may return them within 365 days of your purchase.

We cannot accept returns on our customized and made-to-order products – including double-sided pocket squares, Beaufinity scarves, ascots, cravats, boys’ ties, D-ring belts, cummerbunds and vests – unless there are defects in the fabric or flaws in our workmanship (which, we’re happy to say, there almost never are).

Monogrammed products or custom pattern/Bespoke products are not returnable.

All Other Products

Our cotton face masks – and our underwear, of course – may not be exchanged or returned. We hope we don’t have to explain why. ;-)

All of our other products may be returned to us within 30 days of purchase. They must be returned in their original packaging – with their original tags and/or hardware – and in unused condition.

Additional Information

If you need to make a return, please include as much of the original paperwork as possible, and let us know if you prefer an exchange or a merchandise credit. If you request a refund for an order placed using a credit card for payment, credit card companies require that the refund be made within 90 days of your order, and to the exact card used for the original purchase. Otherwise, we will have to issue merchandise credit in the form of a Beau Ties Gift Card.

Original shipping costs are excluded from refunds.

Orders that originally received free shipping, but which drop below $100 in value as the result of a return will be refunded the price of the returned product minus a $5.00 shipping charge. Returns that would have otherwise changed pricing on a quantity discount (e.g., 3 socks for $25, $9 off 3 bow ties, etc.) will be adjusted to reflect original non-quantity pricing.

As always, please call us at 800-488-8437 if you have any questions.
