When water – in chemist's parlance, H2O – is in a liquid state, each molecule looks a bit like Mickey Mouse. When H2O freezes, however, the molecules unite in a lovely hexagonal pattern. Ours are red and blue on gold silk twill. Silk twill.

This bow tie is great working in the higher ed environment. I can show it to the science faculty with pride. Another good choice is the "Mad Professor" bow tie that I recently added to my collection.

I appreciate "Beau Ties Ltd." making available ties that reflect the activities that we participate in. As a chemist, bow ties allow me to avoid tie tips in beakers and having a tie that demonstrates hydrogen-bonding is quite a conversation piece around the lab.
