Mary Murphy: Have Pen, Will Write

We couldn't possibly celebrate our fifteen years without celebrating the woman who – from the very first day – has been the voice of our catalog. Always in the background, and always at the very heart of every tie description, has been our own Mary Murphy.

Mary, well known for her startling array of eclectic information, her wicked sense of humor and her devotion to meeting every deadline, has found new and delightful ways to describe thousands of tie fabrics over the years. If, occasionally, she has chanced upon a color that defied any given palette, she has simply created a heavenly new hue.

It is Mary, too, who touches base with every customer who sends us a photo that makes its way into a catalog. It's a good bet that lots of you have written to her, talked to her on the phone or taken the time to educate her on matters that eventually find their way into her copy.

So – the next time you read something particularly clever in our catalog, you'll know who, exactly, is hiding behind the pen.
